Sonic 2 Recreation is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (16-bit) by redhotsonic. It sports an ASM overhaul, multiple characters, new zones, a new boss, a new DAC driver that supports many different sound features, new zone art.

Sonic: Into The Void is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) for the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis by Blueblur93 which features a complete overhaul of the game, including new artwork, new HUD, new abilities and many other things.

FIFA Soccer 96 (also known as FIFA 96: Virtual Soccer Stadium) is a video game developed by Extended Play Productions and released by EA Sports in 1995. It was released for the Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Saturn, Sega 32X, Sega Game Gear, PlayStation, Super Nintendo Entertainment System and DOS systems. FIFA 96 is the third entry in the FIFA Series, its tagline being Next Generation Soccer. It was the first in the series to feature real-time 3D graphics on the Sega Saturn, PlayStation, 32X, and DOS versions, using technology called "Virtual Stadium". The SNES and Mega Drive editions used the FIFA '95 engine. It is also the first in the series to present players with real player names and positions, with ranking, transfer and team customisation tools.

Sonic The Hedgehog Open Source Project

Sonic: The Lost Land 2 is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by Shadow Fire. The game is comprised of 11 levels, each filled with dangers you must overcome in order to stop the plans of the maniacal Dr. Eggman. Only palettes, some slight layout changes and various other small modifications have been made for the time being, since this hack is on hold for Sonic - The Lost Land.

Sonic - The Lost Land is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog for the Sega Mega Drive by Shadow Fire. The game is comprised of 7 levels, each filled with traps and badniks intent on bringing down Sonic once and for all. There is also a special realm consisting of 6 Chaos Emeralds. If you have collected at least 50 rings by the time you finish the level, you will see a giant ring. Jump into it to be taken to the secret realm. A dynamic palette system is set up , making each act load its own palette (à la Knuckles' Chaotix), as well as a dynamic music system, allowing each act to load its own music.

Few months after defeating Eggman in Metallic Madness, Sonic decided that he will return to South Island and see if everything is okay. Sadly, Eggman also returned and he wanted to get control over the island once again. Seeing that blue hedgehog is close to the island decided to burn it and hide in Scrap Brain, his old base. Now Sonic must defeat Eggman and get Chaos Emeralds again to restore the island old state before it's too late!

Sonic: South Island Warped is a currently in progress hack of Sonic the Hedgehog. It's main point of interest is the return of the time travel mechanic from Sonic CD, along with a few other new features added to set it apart from the original Sonic 1.

Zones are split into four acts each; three main acts and and a boss act at the end. Sonic is capable of traveling to the past or the future of the zone he's currently in via the signposts hidden in each of the levels. Each act, sans act four, has a robot generator that, when destroyed in the past, will remove all badniks for the rest of the act and also create a good future for that act. Destroying all three generators for a zone will remove Eggman's influence in the fourth act, which always takes place in the future.

Time Stones also return, collectible alongside the Chaos Emeralds. One Time Stone will be hidden in each zone, and it will only be obtainable within the future of that zone. If attempting to retrieve the Time Stone in the bad future, Sonic will have to face off with one of Eggman's machines. If in the good future, the Time Stone will be unguarded and ready to be collected.

The fourth act of a zone contains no generators, Time Stones, or signposts, only a boss fight against either Eggman or Metal Sonic. The Chaos Emeralds will be obtained during these boss fights, usually right after the boss is defeated, but you may also be able to reach it before the boss does, preventing it from making the fight more difficult.

As of now, this is just a demo of GHZ, which even on it's own is still in need of much work. Honestly there's a lot I couldn't get around to doing just yet, but I still wanted to give everyone a sample of what I'm making. More than anything, I just hope you all enjoy what you play. Everything in this is release was done by me with the exception of the sound driver and the one original song port done for this hack. Both of those were by Varion Icaria who I can't thank enough for helping out. Also have to give a thanks to the many users of both Sonic Retro and SSRG who made all of the informative guides and tutorials hosted on both sites.

Sonic 1 Beta Remake is a Sonic 1 hack created by Mistergambit, first released on September 14th, 2006. This hack has all of the Sonic 1 levels redesigned to look like their prototype counterparts, as seen in various magazine screen shots. This hack also has new objects, such as a functioning Splats, the checkered ball that was scrapped from GHZ, and more. To make it seem more like a genuine prototype, some levels are made to look unfinished.

Sonic Green Snake V 4

Sonic the Hedgehog Extended Edition is a hack in progress by Cinossu of Sonic the Hedgehog on the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis. In this version of the game, instead of new or fully edited zones, all the original zones are kept intact with minor editing to the acts. Instead, this hack extends the game beyond its original capabilities, including a zone map with warp rings to each act (much like in Sonic Advance 3), saving via SRAM slots (like in Sonic the Hedgehog 3), obtainable upgrades such as the Spin Dash and Super PeelOut (like in the Megaman X series) as well as a new type of ring, emerald, and special stage to add to the mix.

While work has not been shown on the hack for a while publicly, a lot of work goes on in private. This is mostly Cinossu either restarting the entire thing from scratch (currently on the 5th restart since conception), or constantly adding and refining new features and ideas. The latest restart is most likely the last one, however, as the disassembly is now so modular that the various chunks can be restarted rather than the entire hack.

Many changes in order to enhance the original game. Most notably this includes having the lost Round 6 hidden areas and the deleted motorbike stages restored into the game! Finally, we can play Bare Knuckle III uncut, as it was originally intended! At the time of release this was still a work-in-progress, so naturally there are still some bugs. Unfortunately the team has discontinued work on this groundbreaking hack for now.

Sonic 2: S3 Editon is an assembly hack of Sonic the Hedgehog 2 by Alriightyman for the Sega Mega Drive. It places the levels of Sonic 2 into the engine of Sonic the Hedgehog 3; providing many of its features, including Act transitions, a Sonic 3 Save Screen, and Tails ability to fly.

Sonic 2 Adventure Edition is a hack of Sonic 2 by MainMemory, based on Sonic 2 Adventure Control. It transplants various gameplay mechanics from Sonic Adventure to Sonic 2.

Sonic Boom is a total modification of Sonic 2, created by snkenjoi and iojnekns, along with a wide array of talented contributors. As of the Seventh Annual Hacking Contest, this collective is referred to as SÆGA.
