all of the assets in this demo was made from scratch such as coding and sprite work etc besides a few things borrowed from the original game such as title screen and other stuff

Sonic: Into The Void is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) for the Sega Mega Drive / Sega Genesis by Blueblur93 which features a complete overhaul of the game, including new artwork, new HUD, new abilities and many other things.

Sonic: Into The Void is back again this year for the Sonic Hacking Contest, and I'm hoping that more people plus the judges will enjoy this year's submission a lot more than the previous year's, because I must admit, it was a bit of a steaming pile of poop,
however, over the past year I've been working on a lot issues through the feedback from last years streams and from the SITV topic within Sonic Retro, and I think there is a vast improvement of my hack since it was shown last year, and looks more unique than ever.

Sonic: Scorched Quest formerly known as Sonic 1: Burned Edition is a hack by Team Painto, which shows one of Sonic's adventures after events of Sonic CD on South Island. It is a work in progress, so any criticism will help us. This version is the pre-final version.

Sonic: South Island Warped is a currently in progress hack of Sonic the Hedgehog. It's main point of interest is the return of the time travel mechanic from Sonic CD, along with a few other new features added to set it apart from the original Sonic 1.

Zones are split into four acts each; three main acts and and a boss act at the end. Sonic is capable of traveling to the past or the future of the zone he's currently in via the signposts hidden in each of the levels. Each act, sans act four, has a robot generator that, when destroyed in the past, will remove all badniks for the rest of the act and also create a good future for that act. Destroying all three generators for a zone will remove Eggman's influence in the fourth act, which always takes place in the future.

Time Stones also return, collectible alongside the Chaos Emeralds. One Time Stone will be hidden in each zone, and it will only be obtainable within the future of that zone. If attempting to retrieve the Time Stone in the bad future, Sonic will have to face off with one of Eggman's machines. If in the good future, the Time Stone will be unguarded and ready to be collected.

The fourth act of a zone contains no generators, Time Stones, or signposts, only a boss fight against either Eggman or Metal Sonic. The Chaos Emeralds will be obtained during these boss fights, usually right after the boss is defeated, but you may also be able to reach it before the boss does, preventing it from making the fight more difficult.

As of now, this is just a demo of GHZ, which even on it's own is still in need of much work. Honestly there's a lot I couldn't get around to doing just yet, but I still wanted to give everyone a sample of what I'm making. More than anything, I just hope you all enjoy what you play. Everything in this is release was done by me with the exception of the sound driver and the one original song port done for this hack. Both of those were by Varion Icaria who I can't thank enough for helping out. Also have to give a thanks to the many users of both Sonic Retro and SSRG who made all of the informative guides and tutorials hosted on both sites.

A Hack based on Sonic the Hedgehog 3, Eggman plans to conquer the Mobius and rule the entire planet.
To fulfill his evil scheme, the villain has created his most dangerous invention yet, the Egg-Virtualizer.
With the help of his evil machine, Eggman attempts to virtualize the Mobius and become its only powerful ruler.
He uses the Chaos Emeralds to power the machine, but things went not as he planned.
Shortly after its activation, the machine broke, dispersing the emeralds' shreds all over the virtualized Mobius.
Help Sonic to collect all the emeralds once again to destroy the machine and restore the planet!

This hack started as a small joke hack, just to see if I could add something we all love to classic Sonic games; micro-transactions. This was more or less a success, although not as I imagined it. Nevertheless, I found myself just adding more and more random bits for substance, and eventually even found myself playing around with something completely foreign to me on the side. This led me to have an idea for a bossfight, and as such GHZ2 boss was born! And by that, I got an idea; What if I make full hack with new boss fights! And since then I've been pretty much adding anything to my mind comes up with, as well ass lots of bosses.

But, what is this hack? Well, I dont know to be honest. It was at one point a joke, then a real hack... And then a joke again? I lost track by now. What I do know, is that none of this makes sense, especially the secrets... err, features in this hack. soniNeko is a hack of Sonic the Hedgehog (16-bit) for the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis by nineko. It is notable because of its extended playlist, which not only completely replaces all the songs from the original game, but also introduces several new songs, bringing the grand total to 71 (instead of 22 as in the original Sonic 1); most of those songs are conversions from MIDI and MOD files (as a demonstration of xm2smps/xm3smps capabilities), and a small amount of them are conversions from games that use the Cube/Iwadare sound engine. None of those songs have been converted from other games that use the SMPS sound system, something soniNeko is still unique for.

Sorcerer's Kingdom (ソーサルキングダム?, "Sorcer Kingdom") is a tactical RPG for the Sega Genesis that was published in 1992 by NCS Corp.[1] It was localized for North America and PAL regions by Treco.

Sorcerian (ソーサリアン, Sōsarian?) is an action role-playing game developed by Nihon Falcom, and the fifth in the Dragon Slayer line of games. It was originally released for the NEC PC-8801 in 1987, and was later ported to other personal computer platforms such as the NEC PC-9801, the NEC PC-88VA, the Sharp X1 Turbo, and the MSX2, for which it was released under the title Dragon Slayer V: Sorcerian. An English version for MS-DOS PCs was published by Sierra Entertainment in 1990, ports for the Atari ST, Commodore Amiga, Apple IIGS and Macintosh platforms were announced, but not released. In 1997, Falcom released Sorcerian Forever for Microsoft Windows95/98 -based PCs. In 2000, Falcom released Sorcerian Original, a remake of Sorcerian for Microsoft Windows-based PCs. In addition, console versions of Sorcerian with somewhat differing content from their PC counterparts were developed: A version for the Mega Drive was developed by Sega, a version for the PC Engine CD was developed by Victor Musical Industries, and a version for the Dreamcast was developed by Victor Interactive Software.

South Island Adventure is a large scale hack of Sonic the Hedgehog by Hivebrain, featuring Espio the Chameleon. It has new sprites, several new levels, and numerous other alterations.

Space Harrier (スペースハリアー Supēsu Hariā?) is a third-person rail shooter game, released by Sega in 1985. It was produced by Yu Suzuki, responsible for many popular Sega games. It spawned several sequels: Space Harrier 3-D (1988), Space Harrier II (1988), and the spin-off Planet Harriers (2000). Space Harrier was originally made for the arcades, and later saw ports to many home game systems. Space Harrier's release on the Sega Master System is notable, as there were two versions: one was just like the arcade, while the other, entitled Space Harrier 3-D was actually a sequel. It was one of the first arcade games to use 16-bit graphics and Sega's "Super Scaler" technology that allowed pseudo-3D sprite-scaling at high frame rates,[2] with the ability to scale as many as 32,000 sprites and fill a moving landscape with them,[3] along with over 32,000 colours displayed simultaneously on the screen. It also introduced a true analog flight stick for movement, with the ability to register movement in any direction as well as measure the degree of push, which could move the player character at different speeds depending on how far the stick is pushed in a certain direction.[4] The game was also an early example of a third-person shooter;[5] it was influenced by the earlier 1982 Sega game Buck Rogers: Planet of Zoom, and Space Harrier in turn influenced later 3D shooters such as Nintendo's Star Fox/Starwing in 1993.

Space Invaders (スペースインベーダー, Supēsu Inbēdā?) is an arcade video game developed by Tomohiro Nishikado and released in 1978. It was originally manufactured and sold by Taito in Japan, and was later licensed for production in the United States by the Midway division of Bally. Space Invaders is one of the earliest shooting games and the aim is to defeat waves of aliens with a laser cannon to earn as many points as possible. In designing the game, Nishikado drew inspiration from popular media: Breakout, The War of the Worlds, and Star Wars. To complete it, he had to design custom hardware and development tools. It was one of the forerunners of modern video gaming and helped expand the video game industry from a novelty to a global industry (see golden age of video arcade games). When first released, Space Invaders was very successful. The game has been the inspiration for other video games, re-released on numerous platforms, and led to several sequels. The 1980 Atari 2600 version quadrupled the system's sales and became the first "killer app" for video game consoles. Sparkster (スパークスター, Supākusutā?) is a 16-bit generation side scrolling platformer produced and released in 1994 by Konami for the Super Famicom/Super Nintendo Entertainment System, directed by Hideo Ueda (Axelay). It is a different game from the Mega Drive version, which bore the full title of Sparkster: Rocket Knight Adventures 2, and has no plot continuity with the original Rocket Knight Adventures for the Mega Drive.

Speedy Gonzales (commonly shortened to just Speedy) is an animated caricature of a mouse in the Warner Brothers Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies series of cartoons. He is portrayed as "The Fastest Mouse in all Mexico" with his major traits being the ability to run extremely fast and speaking with an exaggerated Mexican accent. He usually wears an oversized yellow sombrero, white shirt and trousers (which is a common traditional outfit worn by men and boys of rural Mexican villages), and a red kerchief, similar to that of some traditional Mexican attires. To date there have been 46 cartoons made either starring or featuring this character.

Venom/Spider-Man: Separation Anxiety is a side-scrolling beat 'em up video game and sequel to Spider-Man and Venom: Maximum Carnage, released for Sega Mega Drive and Super NES and then ported to PC, in which one or two players could team up as Spider-Man and Venom to defeat the evil symbiote Carnage. The game boasts a large number of thugs that the player has to defeat: heavily armed Jury and Venom's symbiote children.

Spider-Man is a fictional character, a comic book superhero that appears in comic books published by Marvel Comics. Created by writer-editor Stan Lee and writer-artist Steve Ditko, he first appeared in Amazing Fantasy #15 (cover-dated Aug. 1962). Lee and Ditko conceived the character as an orphan being raised by his Aunt May and Uncle Ben, and as a teenager, having to deal with the normal struggles of adolescence in addition to those of a costumed crimefighter. Spider-Man's creators gave him super strength and agility, the ability to cling to most surfaces, shoot spider-webs using wrist-mounted devices of his own invention (which he called "web-shooters"), and react to danger quickly with his "spider-sense", enabling him to combat his foes. Separately, Marvel also introduced a new Spider-Man, the mixed race teenager Miles Morales, in stories set in its Ultimate Comics-branded alternative universe. Spider-Man is one of the most popular and commercially successful superheroes. As Marvel's flagship character and company mascot, he has appeared in many forms of media, including several animated and live-action television shows, syndicated newspaper comic strips, and a series of films starring Tobey Maguire as the "friendly neighborhood" hero in the first three movies. Andrew Garfield has taken over the role of Spider-Man in a reboot of the films. Reeve Carney stars as Spider-Man in the 2010 Broadway musical Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark. Spider-Man placed 3rd on IGN's Top 100 Comic Book Heroes of All Time in 2011.

Spider-Man and the X-Men in Arcade's Revenge is a video game first released for the Super Nintendo in 1992 by LJN. It was later released for the Sega Genesis/Mega Drive and Game Gear (under the Flying Edge brand) as well as the Game Boy. The game features Marvel Comics characters Spider-Man and the X-Men as they battle their captor, the villainous Arcade.
