Sally also gets a small vertical boost.Slide: Press Down while running to slide on the ground for a short distance. Sally can also slide under certain obstacles using this method.Somersault Dash: Press Down + C while sliding on the ground and Sally will somersault forward at a high speed. This is useful for jumping long distances.Upward Dash: Hold Down + C while on the ground and Sally will rev her feet on the spot as opposed to a spin dash. Let go of Down to charge full throttle in the facing direction. Be careful though, Sally is vulnerable to blockading obstacles and enemies.Sally also replaces Sonic in Competition Mode. She plays identically to 1 Player Mode.

Sonic 3D: Director's Cut is a hack of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island made by Jon Burton, founder of Traveller's Tales and the game's original programmer, with the goal of expanding the game with new content to increase replayability and to fix long-standing issues that the game has been criticized for. The project was first announced on Jon Burton's YouTube channel, GameHut, on October 12, 2017, and update videos were uploaded on a basis.A public beta test was released as an expo entry during the 2017 Sonic Hacking Contest for players to try out the game and report bugs or suggest times for the new Time Challenge mode. The finished version was eventually released on December 23, 2017 as an xdelta patch and as a download on the Steam Workshop for owners of Sonic 3D on Steam.

Sonic 3D: No Flickies is a hack of Sonic 3D: Flickies' Island made by Sik. The game remains mostly unchanged; however, the Flicky collection system (part of the core gameplay of the original game) has been removed, allowing the player to complete the levels without needing to collect all the flickies in the level to advance. This makes it much more similar to traditional Sonic games, where the goal is to simply make it to the end of the level without dying.This hack was later built upon further in the hack, Super Sonic in Sonic 3D, which was also created by Sik.
