Sonic 3 Extended World CD
This project is a brand new take of redesigning of Sonic 3! This project consists of a 3-in-1 package made by Jdpense, that has new routes and scripted events for each of the players in the game! In addition an overhaul of changes to the levels there are also changes to Special Stage with an overhaul of layout changes along with newer spheres from the last build added for an extra challenge.
Although, this build is different from last year's, since it's switched over to Sonic 3 Alone as the base game instead of Sonic 3 and Knuckles due to it being more simple to use. Along with that, Sonic and Tails are the only playable characters in this build as there wasn't enough time to flesh out the other characters.
Main Changes and Features:
New power ups and abilities:
Wall Jump (for Sonic)
Golden Shield (gives Sonic the ability to homing attack with a jump dash)
An overhaul of layout changes to the following zones:
Angel Island
Marble Garden
Carnival Night
Ice Cap
Customized bosses for the following levels:
Angel Island Act 2
Marble Garden Act 2*
Carnival Night Act 2
Ice Cap Act 2
New scripted events added for each of the routes in the levels!
New redesign for all seven of the main Special Stages!
The same spheres added to the Special Stages (from last bulid):
Green Spheres - act as an extra 2-hit sphere, turns into blue spheres when touched.
Pink Spheres - transports the player to another random pink sphere on the map.
New Sega CD Mode 1 feature that utilizies the Sega CD hardware!
At the moment, it only uses the feature of the PCM chip with new high quality sound effects, but more is planned later on, like the graphics chip and CDDA.
To know if Sega CD Mode 1 is activated, you should hear a Chao cheer sound effect upon booting up the game.
Minor Changes and Features:
New option added to skip Angel Island's intro cutscene by pressing start
Unused surfboard intro restored
Tails has his own custom intro sequence
Palettes to the special stages were altered
Title screen has modified text

Notes and Misc Information:
In downloads, along with the ROM, there are level maps for each of the levels included. Along with this, there is a .cue included, which isn't really needed to activate CD Mode 1, but it's added in case some emulators might need it.
The boss(es) in asetricks were the mostly the same bosses from last build, but have tweaks and improvements (i.e. - hitboxes and controls) to improve the exprience.
Non-Changes (From last year's build and from general base game):
Bosses from base game not listed remain unchanged along with some of the custom bosses from last build removed
Bonus Stages remain unchanged (aside from the additon of the golden shield being added as a gumball power up)
Grey Spheres were removed from this build for the Special Stages
Save Menu is still unchanged and not included in this build
Hydrocity and Launch Base Zone's layouts are unchanged
Palettes, Music, and SFX remain unchanged (with the exception of the Special Stages' palette and the main bosses' music)
Continue Screen and Lives system unchanged
Original HUD text and art is restored to stock vanilla from last build
Title Screen and Menus are pretty much the same from last build
The Blue Spheres Challenge mode still remains in this build and functions the same way as it did from last build
