Judge Joseph Dredd is a fictional character whose comic strip in the British science fiction anthology 2000 AD is the magazine's longest running, having been featured there since its second issue in 1977. Dredd is an American law enforcement officer in a violent city of the future where uniformed Judges are empowered to arrest, sentence, and execute criminals at the scene of crime. The character was created by writer John Wagner and artist Carlos Ezquerra, although editor Pat Mills also deserves some credit for early development.
Judge Dredd is amongst the UK's best known comic characters. So great is the character's name recognition that his name is sometimes invoked over similar issues to those explored by the comic series, such as the police state, authoritarianism, and the rule of law. Judge Dredd was named the Seventh Greatest Comic Character by the British magazine Empire. In 2011, IGN ranked him 35th in the Top 100 Comic Book Heroes.

Walt Disney's The Jungle Book is a series of video games based on the 1967 Disney animated film The Jungle Book, primarily released in 1994. It was first released by Virgin Interactive in 1993 for the Sega Master System. Conversions for the Game Boy, NES (for which it was one of the last titles released by a third-party developer), Sega Mega Drive/Genesis, Sega Game Gear, Super NES, and PC followed in 1994, and a remake for the Game Boy Advance was released in 2003. While gameplay is the same on all versions, technological differences between the systems forced changes – in some case drastic – in level design, resulting in six fairly different versions of the 'same' game. This article is largely based upon the Sega Mega Drive/Genesis version.

Jungle Strike is a video game developed (in association with Mike Posehn) and published by Electronic Arts in 1993. It was originally released for the Mega Drive, before being ported to several other systems including an upgraded version for the Amiga. The Amiga and other home computer conversions were the responsibility of Ocean Software while the Super Nintendo Entertainment System version was that of Gremlin Interactive. The game is a helicopter based shoot 'em up, mixing action and strategy. It is the sequel to Desert Strike: Return to the Gulf (a best-seller released in 1992) and is the second game in the Strike series. Jungle Strike retained its predecessor's core mechanics and expanded on the model with additional vehicles and settings. The plot concerns two villains intent on destroying Washington, D.C.. The player must use the helicopter and occasionally other vehicles to thwart their plans. The game was critically acclaimed, with some reviewers awarding scores upwards of 90%. Publications praised its gameplay, strategy, design, controls and graphics, although there were some complaints regarding the interface, difficulty and perceived jingoistic politics. The President of the United States in the game is not named, but is apparently modeled after Bill Clinton, who in a cut scene praises the player for protecting him and apologizes for cutting the defense budget.
