Golden Axe II — Cheat codes

Level Select

When the game starts, hold Ⓐ, Ⓑ and Ⓒ and press START. Release Ⓑ and Ⓒ, but keep holding Ⓐ. Go to the Options screen and press Ⓑ and Ⓒ at the same time to enter it. Without releasing the Ⓐ button, move the cursor ⬇️ to Exit and press Ⓑ and Ⓒ again. Keep holding the Ⓐ button, press Ⓑ and Ⓒ together to make your choice of one or two players. Press again to choose a character and, without releasing Ⓐ, hold ⬆️ and press Ⓑ, Ⓒ and START simultaneously. Select your round with the Ⓐ, Ⓑ and Ⓒ buttons.

Extra Magic

You can only get this option for player one and you must be using the "Special Magic" option. When you hear the music before the first boss (the Big Red Minotaur), hold Ⓒ. Defeat the boss while holding Ⓒ, and just as you see the screen swirl to black, release Ⓒ. Now, while in the special level don't press any button or move at all. If you were successful, when you start the next level, your character will cast a special spell and your magic points will fill ⬆️ to 255.

Refill Magic

To refill your magic, find two sorcerers and use your special magic to kill them. Quickly get their Spell Books, and before they dissapear, use your magic again.This will trigger an error, causing the sorcerers to give you two more Spell Books!! Repeat this error/trick until your Spell Meter is full.

More Continues

To get extra continues in arcade mode, after switching on the game, press and hold Ⓐ, Ⓑ and Ⓒ. Hit START to go to the Options menu. While in Options, release Ⓐ (keep pressing Ⓑ and Ⓒ) and select the options you want to play with. Next, exit the Options menu, still holding Ⓑ and Ⓒ. Select either 1 or 2 players, and you will now have eight continues.

Unlimited Magic

If you find yourself surrounded by a lot of enemies and at least one sorcerer, hit the sorcerer somehow (magic or sword), grab his magic, then immediately use it. Ⓐ bug will cause the sorcerer's magic to reappear on the ground where you can repeat the process.

Weak Resurrection (Two-player Game)

To resurrect your friend, simply use your magic as soon as he dies. This will trigger an error and keeping your friend alive!

Note: This does not refill his/her Hit Points, so one hit will kill them.
